    Exception thrown when application starts

When NT7 starts I have Error messagebox :
    ---------------------------

    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

After clicking OK it shows another messagebox:

If I click Ignore application loads and runs normally.

    I am running NT7 64-bit in MS Server 2008.

      Please try this:
      - uninstall NT7
      - download again
      - install again

Please see if that makes a difference. Thanks

        Hello,

Just installed 7B5 and am experiencing the same error. I cannot get past it. I have uninstalled, deleted the Documents/NinjaTrader 7 directory and reinstalled twice.

I am selecting "no" to data migration, then this message appears (same as OP).

        I am running W7 64-bit.

Now, the OP says if they click "Ignore" it actually loads as it should. That is not the case for me. When I click Ignore, I get another exception message then NT crashes (...application has stopped working...). I am unable to load NT 7B5 at all.

EDIT: Here is the exception after hitting Ignore:
        Code:

There is something wrong with your installation. Could you please post complete (!) trace file (please zip before attaching)? Thanks

It's only 8kb. Attached. Removed machine ID and license key.

There is something wrong your DB. Please try deleting the DB file <my documents>/NinjaTrader 7/db/NinjaTrader.sdf and next start NT again to see if that made a difference.

I did that before posting here the first time. NT recreates the file then throws the error message, same as before.

                  Here is the sdf.

Well I tried, your server wont allow the file, it's 600kb zipped.

Do you get that problem for both 64-bit and 32-bit version of NT7?

Hmm interesting. It seems the x64 version, which I can't use because I use Zen Fire, does not throw the error message -- it works.

The x86 version does throw the error.

So what does this tell us, where to go from here?

EDIT to add: BTW, even after x64 works, if I close it then open x86, it still does not work.

Not sure what would case that. Guess we are back to checking the "usual suspects":
                        - do you have the official Win7 version installed or a beta or RC or something like that?
                        - do you have latest updates installed?
                        - what exact (!) Win7 edition are you on?

In addition I added some more trace info for next beta. Hopefully this provides more insights

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate final, not beta, build 7600 (again, final)
                          All updates

Also, tried running in compatibility mode for XP sp3, Vista sp2, plus ran the compatibility wizard. Nothing worked, same error each time.

Can you ask your developer to generate a more detailed debug build that lets you know exactly where the problem occurs and is halting? Perhaps contact your developer and make the case to them so they can look at the source, since it works with x64 but not x86 that should narrow it down.

Obviously we looked at the sources as I made statement below regarding the enhanced traces. Unfortunately you will have to wait until next beta (no ETA yet). Sorry for the inconvenience.
