Uprading from 6.0.1000.1 to 6.0.1000.2 on XP
Now when I try to backtest the dialogue box is blank. I can cancel out without other effect. But if I click ok, I get an Unhandled exception error.
It ends by saying Object reference not set to an instance of an object. The details button has a long JIT error that I can post if you like.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled (several times) and rebooted.
What should I do?
Edit:
I've just discovered that I have a blank indicator dialogue box too.

Hi,
Can you restart NT, open an indicator via Tools > Edit NinjaScript > then once the NinjaScript Editor opens, press the F5 key to compile. It should say that the compile process was successful. If yes, try and backtest again. Does it now work?

When I go to open the script I get another unhandled exception
When I go to open another script (indicator or strategy) it opens with no error message. They recompile ok. The dialogue boxes are still blank.
I tried restarting NT but the dialogue boxes are still blank. When I open the strategy editor again the error mesage comes back. It says:
"Could not load exported type data for assembly NinjaTrader.Custom Version-6.0.1000.2 Culture-newutral, PublicKeyToken-null and type NinjaTrader.indicator.indicator" with more JIT stuff.

Thanks. I will escalate this to development and you will have a response overnight.

Your NT installation or .NET 2.0 installation likely is screwed up. Please:
- uninstall NT via control panel
- uninstall .NET 2.0 via control panel
- clear your browser cache
- download and install .NET 2.0
- download and install NT

Nope, same deal.
It looks like I'm getting a new machine here at work, so I can get NT running again on that. Since I had only been using it a couple of days, not much lost.
But I'm willing to keep this machine on the bench next to me if you want to continue to troubleshoot. If something like this happens again, it's a show-stopper and not everyone has the luxury of reinstalling their OS.

You could try an additional step:
- uninstall NT via control panel
- uninstall .NET 2.0 via control panel
- manually remove <my documents>/NinjaTrader6 and <program files>/NinjaTrader 6 (if still existent)
- clear your browser cache
- download and install .NET 2.0
- download and install NT

Nope again. Removing the folder in My Documents didn't help.
EDIT
Oh, AND under Program files. I'll let you know.....

Well it looks like the uninstaller took it out anyway.
Still the same.
Anything else?

Nope. I'm out of ideas. We do not have any similar report.

Do you by chance have located <my documents> on a network drive? This could cause issues. If so, I suggest putting it on your local hard drive.

I had thought of that and did so. But to no effect.
And remember .1 ran perfectly, it wasn't till after the upgrade that I had trouble.
I'm still pulling data, so I haven't wiped the machine yet, if you think of something else.

Hmm.. again out of ideas right now. Wiping machine might help or not though...
