Support,

I request to consider adding the following features in NT 7 beta upcoming updates:
Introduce parallel line drawing feature, so that one can draw rays/lines/arrowlines parallel to others
Enable feature to draw horizontal rays/lines/arrowlines, similar to horizontal lines.
Ability to cut the a ray at a particular point, so that it becomes a line.Thank you

Thanks for suggestions.

On the parallel line suggestion. Can you please draw a line, select it, right click copy, right click paste.

This will paste an identical line at the same angle as the original. Is this not sufficient, if not, what would be different in your suggestion?

yes Ray, that is how I draw lines parallel (or close to parallel) right now in ninja. But I feel sometimes, I need to attach the duplicate parallel line to a bar and it won't allow to attach the duplicate line to a bar high/low. By attach I mean, start the duplicate line from a bar's high/low. If you can enable this feature, it would be helpful to draw parallel lines.

So moving the copied line would not work at all or is there something with that that is a roadblock?

As I suggested in this thread, the paste should occur where your pointer is located, not at some random place or on top of the copied line. The other suggestions still stand also. Thanks.

Ray,

When you do the copying/moving, it appears as if the "Snap to OHLC" is disabled for the copied line. If you can enable the "Snap to OHLC" for the starting point of the copied line, it would work. please enable "snap to ohlc" only for starting point of copied line and not for the 2nd point in the copied line.

Support,

Some more feature requests regarding draw objects:
For horizontal lines, two user configurable options, 1) so that price get price marker can be enabled/disbled for horizontal lines and 2)option so that price gets printed on left side of the chart or right side of the chart.
The global drawobjects feature is a great feature added in NT7. 1) An option so that drawobject is local to all charts in the current workspace only, may be call it "localdrawobject". 2)If there is an option to select the names of the chart within the same workspace, it would be really helpful to limit drawobjects to only those charts.
Regarding fibonacci feature, the color of the line joining the two points should user selectable. Right now it doesn't give user the option of selecting color of the line. Thanks

Ray,

An additional draw object feature request:

Feature to hide and unhide current draw objects on the particular chart. A "button" on top left of chart, similar to the "chartrader" button that can be turned on and off to hide and unhide the draw objects of the chart

Ray,.. any chance if some of the features requested in this thread could make it to one of the NT7 releases?

Thanks

Thanks for the additional suggestion. I can't guarantee anything at this time except your suggestion for making the fib anchor points connecting line user defineable (color, width etc..) will make it into the next update.

I'd like to make a suggestion that might be an easy change and could greatly enhance the use of parallel lines. After making a parallel line to build a channel, it is frequently necessary, at least for me, to change the length of the copied line. In doing so, it's very easy to mistakenly make the line nonparallel.

QuoteTracker has a unique help feature for this, in that it changes the color of the line, as you're resizing it, if it becomes non parallel. It's really quite helpful.

We have introduced a property on each Data Series "Show global draw objects" which will let you control which Data Sereis on a chart would display a global draw object.

Thanks Ray. Nice feature on the selection of globaldrawobjects in dataseries.

I have one more feature request:

On Rays and lines(lines created either by F2 or F6) ,give user option to get sound alert. Like a ray/line can be double-clicked and a sound alert can be enabled in its properties and sound file can be selected. So,that when the ray/line is touched or nearer to it, it gives sound alert. This feature would be really useful.

Thanks

I agree, this would be useful feature, its on our list but it will not make it into the 1st production release of NT7.

Ray,

Regarding resizing of parrallel lines or channels and how they can easily and frustratingly get nonparrallel, I saw an excellent suggestion for fixing the problem on another website. If there could be a default button for FREEZING THE SLOPE of all lines drawn, that would solve the problem.

I have forwarded the suggestion to Ray.

Ray,

Referring to an old previous post #6

Is there any way to achieve this "snap to OHLC" on the copied line(preserving the slope of the line) in NT7 Beta 17 version?

This would be a really nice and helpful feature for drawing parallel lines and attaching them to a bar's OHLC (without changing the slope).

Just an an idea,.. may be like add a property called "slope" to the lines,....so that slope can be adjusted to make sure it 100% parallel. Or some other way to ensure copied line gets attached to a bar's OHLC without changing the slope.

Thanks
mmtrader

mmtrader,

I am not exactly sure what you mean. When you copy a line already in "Snap to Price" mode, the line is copied already with the same slope.

Josh,

The line is copied with the same slope, but trying to see anyway to attach the copied line to the bar's OHLC. When I tried to paste the slanted copied line, the slope is preserved but it is not getting attached to bar's exact OHLC. Would be nice if "Snap to OHLC" feature is enabled for copied lines also,..so that copied lines can be attached to exact bar low or high.

Hello mmtrader,

Am I correct you refer to the following. When Snap Mode is set to Bar and Price and you draw a new line, the first anchor point will automatically be tied to an OHLC value. However when you copy this line, it will not be tied to an OHLC value of a bar.

You like the copied line to automatically be tied to an OHLC value as well instead of the line being copied a centimeter below the original line.

Jason, when a slanted line is copied and then pasted, the pasted line has the same slope, which is good. But when I drag the pasted line, I am trying to move the pasted line to a new place, like another bar and then snap it to the other bar's exact low(for example). This snap to other bar's OHLC is the problem.

Please try and see if anyway you can try to drag the pasted parallel line to another bars exact low for example. I tried, but am unable to do that. Would be really helpful if ninja team can enable this feature.

Thanks

I see, once you locate the line at an OHLC value on a different bar, it does not snap to the exact value at all times.

I will forward your suggestion to Development. Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks Jason, appreciate it.

Ray/Josh,..any comments,.. any other way to achieve this? Would be really helpful if this feature is enabled for pasted lines.

Unfortunately I see no other way than to zoom in the chart after you applied the copied line and ensure it is located at the exact value.

Ray/Support,

Has the ninja team reviewed this request, would be really helpful if the "Snap to OHLC" is enabled for pasted parallel lines/rays in one of the upcoming beta releases.

Also, is there any broad time line you targeting for NT-7 production release, will it be in Q3? I understand it depends on ironing out the bugs in beta version, but is it possible NT7 B18 or Beta-19 to be the production release?

Hello mmtrader,

Your suggestion has been added to our feedback list. Unfortunately I am not sure if and when it will be incorporated in the software.

Unfortunately there is no ETA yet when NinjaTrader 7 will be released as production version.
