Sometimes when I'm using NinjaTrader connected to IB, there's a power failure, a computer restart, a data problem that requires a restart of the IB software. Sometimes there's simply a logout by IB's TWS (required once per day).
When I restart and resume the connection with NT, the SuperDom window no longer knows that it's supposed to be handling the open position! Hence my question:
Is there any way to tell a strategy to handle an existing position that it doesn't remember it was handling? In other words, is there a command to say "from this point on for this open trade, use the following ATM template"?
I have a similar problem when a position is open and handled by the ATM--but the market closes for the session and all day orders are cleared by my broker. Is my only choice to re-enter those orders manually and follow my strategy manually from that point on?
Thanks!
