Hi!
How to set up commission rates if they vary based on the monthly trading volume?

Interactive Brokers offers to trade futures, stocks, etc. at a fixed rate per share (called „bundled pricing“) or depending on the monthly trading volume of certain underlying class (class := futures, stocks, options; called „unbundled pricing“). The unbundled pricing scheme is cheaper if you have a lot trades per month.

e.g.
Bundled pricing: Buy and sell 1 FDAX Future => 2 Euro + 2 Euro = 4 Euro commission per roundturn
Unbundeled pricing: if you have 1000 FDAX Future Trades a month you pay approx. 1,51 Euro for trade 1-300 each and 1,36 Euro for trade 301-1000 each.

In NT6 several commission levels can be defined, some details are provided in the Help guide (adding commision rate, commission tab).

What does "Unit" mean? I guess this is the amount of shares / futures PER TRADE and not per month?

Is it possible to get the right commission calculations for the IB unbundled pricing in NT6? NT6 would have to count the total amount of shares/futures trades over all underlyingings of a certail underlying class (# of all futures traded, # of all stocks traded,...) per month, for each broker account, or as a sum over all user accounts on an IB advisory account.

thx in advance

Not sure if you can setup IB commission structure. What you can do is:
- commision per unit (=traded lot/share...) in multi levels
- min commision per trade

You likely have to approximate IB commisions by custom calculations based on your projected (or real?) traded volume.

Ok, so it is not possible to get the exact values right no. Please add it to the future-improvements-wishlist ;-)

We'll add it to the list.
