Multiple Connection Question

Questions on Multiple Connections

“NinjaTrader supports multiple simultaneous connections to different connectivity providers and in some cases, to the same connectivity provider allowing you to:



· Connect to and trade through multiple brokers simultaneously

· Connect to your broker and your data feed provider simultaneously”



Does this mean I can connect NT to 3 or 4 different Interactive broker accounts at the same time and that NT will place orders and stops with all accounts at the same time? What if an order to buy at the bid was placed and 3 accounts obtained a fill and the 4th one didn’t…when a sell order was sent would the 3 accounts cover and the one with no buy fill now be short?

My friend Wes (Zoltran) speaks very highly of NinjaTrader and I am almost ready to purchase a copy but wanted to know the answer to the above before I commit.

Hi Keith,

NT can connect to multiple running TWS concurrently. We do provide a function to replicate an entry order across multiple accounts however which when filledcan submit stop and targets however, subsequent management of each replicatedorder and the resulting stop/target bracketsmust be handled on an individual basis.

Ray,

So what you are saying is that after order placement and fills, stop and target orders would be immediately submitted by NT only for the accounts that got fills. If further adjustment of the existing stop and target orders is needed in each seperate account it would have to be done using the TWS screen.

Close....You can use TWS or NinjaTrader to manage the auto submitted stops/targets. What you can't do is change a stop and then all other stops are changed.
