View Full Version : Stop not confirmed by exchange

After submitting an order via the superdom today I got an error message along the lines of the exchange (or broker?) not confirming the stop or target orders, and that I would have to manage the order manually. Sure enough, the order did not appear in the superdom window. As this was only my 3rd ever trade I was unsure what to do, and so ended up closing the order out via IB Trader Workstation.
Can anyone explain what happened to cause NT not to allow me to manage the position as per normal?

Sure. NT did not receive confirmation for the order. This could be a result of many different variables. Your course of action in this situation was correct.

Does NT import open positions from IB TWS upon startup - if so would that have allowed me to manage the order via NT.
Or, could I have closed the position by buying a lot (the original 'failed' order was a long) through NT?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I'm pretty new to this game.

2) Order can be managed by NT but only from the Order Tab in the Control Center window.
Have you seen any problems or broker specific issues with NT sending orders? eg, does IB work better than pats or cme v cbot?
The original posters question raises this issue for me.
