Is it possible to have one licensed copy of NT running under one user on a computer, and a second licensed copy under another user's name on that same computer? I don't need both to run at the same time, but I would like to know if I can, say, log on as User A, launch my NT licensed for a Patsystems account, do what I need to, quit the NT application, switch to User B, launch a different licensed copy of NT under that user name, and work with, say, a ZenFire account at a different brokerage. Can I do that?
Thanks for any help.

It is not advised to have two separate installations on your PC. What you can do is use the Multi-Broker version so you have one instance of NT, connect to broker A and B at the same time.

Hi,
I'm wondering the same thing, except that I do need have the two installations running simultaneously. I share a fast trading server with another trader who also uses Ninja. We cannot start NinjaTrader at the same time even though we're logged in as different users in different RDC sessions. Is this something that is possible to do?
Thanks.

That is correct. You can not run multiple NT instances the same time on the same machine.

What is the reason for that? Will that change for NT7?
I have the Live license & the original Sim license. Plenty of memory & quad-core CPU.
It would be nice to have both run on the same system...
Thanks!

Unfortunately this will not change with NT7.

So, what is the reasoning for being able to run only one instance per machine?
If every instance had a unique/valid license, should that not meet your concerns?

Unfortunately I do not have any further information on that matter than outlining what the limitations are.

Why not buy another machine for a few hundred dollars, and run one session per machine? Might make your system run smoother too.

If you have the computer resources you could run two copies in separate virtual machines. I do this on Windows 7 and it works quite well. Just need a lot of memory and a quad core.

Hello wowzers,
Yes, you will need to be connected to the internet in order to download & install NinjaTrader and to run NinjaTrader as well.
