Position Pnl in indicator

I am trying to enhance a custom panel with any "open positions" information. That is, if a position is open at any time, show the Pnl at that instant at a predefined location within the Panel.

Is it possible to get this info for indicators (such as my panel) ? or it only accessible from strategies ? Also is there a working sample I can refer to get to the Pnl ?
