Hello,

I am trying to set up a second IB account and cannot get both connections established at the same time. I believe I followed the instructions for setting up a second account (port # 4000 in second connection in both NT and TWS). I can connect to the first one, but then trying the second gives me the "Target machine actively refused..." error. I then close the first one and can connect to the second, but when I try to also connect to the first one I get that error again.

Tradestation is up and running while I am doing this (which it needs to be).

Thanks for any help.

I also tried it with Tradestation not running and got the same results.

Hello dwil:

Thank you for your post.

Please ensure that you have multiple instances of TWS standalone v867.xx installed on your computer. You will need 2 instances of TWS installed if you are trying to connect to 2 different IB accounts. Then you should be able to connect to both accounts simultaneously using the different port numbers.

Regards,

Ryan

There is probably an obvious answer, but exactlyhow do I get two instances of TWS?

Thanks.

Hello dwil:

Please download again from their website.

http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/main.php

The version would be TWS standalone 867.xx

Thanks. I have now gotten them both connected. I seem to have to log into TWS for both accts and then do the connection. With the one account NT did the log in to TWS automatically. Is there any way to configure it so it does it automatically (I understand I would have to go to File\connect for each of them).

Hello dwil:

In the account setup for IB, checkmark the Auto Logon box. See attached screenshot.
