Hi Ninjas,

I am currently building myself a new PC, which will serve many home entertainment uses as well as my trading.

It is a dual core system utlising 64 bit architecture, and I am considering installing Windows XP PRo 64 bit version.

Will NT run in a 64 bit environment?

thanks.

PS: and no, I am not going to upgrade to Vista anytime soon.

NT runs on 64 bit processor but not 64 bit Windows (as reported by users).

Yeah, 32bit O/S and applications will run in 64bit architecture, but at 32bit rates. To run in 64bit O/S, drivers will need to be re-written for NT.

Please consider it though...64bit is faster and allows for much more memory, plus it takes full advantage of 64bit architecture and dual core performance. Not everyone is going to migrate to Vista that quickly, given the amount of bugs and glitches it has at first release.

cheers,
Antraman
