View Full Version : Frequent Disconnects from IB

The past few weeks, I've been experiencing about 5 disconnects per day from the main IB feed. TWS sort of "greys out" and orders can't be placed/modified, but the price feed still updates. Usually these disconnects form the main feed last about a min or two, then it reconnects itself. Talked to IB support, but not getting anywhere with them. I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problems, or had any suggestions. Thanks for any feedback.

Please let me know the following...
1. Which version of NinjaTrader?
2. Which version of IB TWS?
It is recommended to use NT v5.2.100.6 or NT v6 beta 7. For TWS, please use TWS standalone v866.xx
If you are still experiencing problems, you may want to re-create the account connection under Tools > Account Connections.

I'm using the versions of NT 5 and TWS that you indicated. I really think it is a problem between IB and my system, not a NT problem, but I don't know what else to try to fix it.

NinjaTrader acts like a radio receiver in that we can only display the data that is being sent from I.B. Your disconnects could be a result of your Internet Service, a firewall, pop-up blocker or something else on your computer that could be causing the disconnects to occur.
I would recommend taking a look at these items first. If the problem persists, please let us know.
