Instrument Manager

I know I need to set up symbols in the INstrument Manger for them to function throughout the NT system...

Does the settings used for a particular instrument effect the way trades are placed by NT?

I have an IB account and I don't want NT doing anything about order routing, all IB routing should be default exchange = SMART. Do I need to worry about this?
