Using NT 5.x something, I see in the online Manual Apendix B - Data Backup that you are able to backup settings, etc.
However, is it OK to use this procedure as explained and move those folders/files to a new computer so that all my original settings, etc. are intact? I wasn't sure if there were some computer specific items in these folders/files that might cause an issue.

Yes, that should be safe.

I need to do the same as my OS is crashing. What folders do I need to copy to ensure that all of NT version 5 settings. Is it the entire db folder I see. Within that folder I have Db.zip I believe because I had to send it to you guys for analysis. I am trying to ensure I get all me NT settins, colors, they way I have it programmed etc. Of second importace would be my trade reports. The only way I can currently back up is to CD-R which maxes at 650 MB. Which are the minimum folder I need to copy and back up that would allow me to get all of NT settings and off secondary importace my trade histories. TIA

I just tried it and my data folder is too big to fit on any CD-R. It is almost 1 gig. If I am primarily concerned about saving my settings can I skip this folder in order to fit it on the CD-R?
If you answer is no then I guess I will have to get a USB flash drive.
