Hi, Getting two different connection errors to IB this morning. First, an aleert box box popped up saying it was unable to connect because someone else had locked the database. I then restarted NT and now it just hangs while trying to connect. NT isn;t frozen, the status line says Connecting - Interactive Brokers but nothing is happening. TWS appears to be working with no problems.
I will try repairing the dB and start over. But any other help would be appreciated.

Hi Jonathan,
Can you bring up TWS first and then connect NinjaTrader to it.
You are using NinjaTrader V5.2.1000.4 together with TWS Standalone 861.5, correct?
You can check for the version under Help--> About.

Hi Vince,
After I repaired the dB and rebooted the computer, it appears to be working fine. For the record, I am using NT v5.2.1000.3 and TWS standalone version v861.5. Should I move to .4 of NT?

Yes, it's best to be on our latest production release V5.2.1000.4

OK. I'll make the move after the close.
Thanks,

Hi,
Made the move to latest version and everything work fine for a day. This morning NT stopped working again. Now it says it is connected but it doesn;t make the usual connection "ding" and no accounts are listed in the SuperDOMs. I tried rebooting the machine and repairing the database.
Please, help is needed!!

Hi,
I tried deleting the database in the /Ninjatrader/db/ folder and now I am able to connect. I lost all my transaction history (of course) but also my tick data for charts. So while I am up and running (thankfully), I would like to resolve the issue so I can get my transaction history back.
Any ideas or info I can provide to help?

Hi Jonathan,
Since you deleted the database all your trade data, strategies, settings etc are lost.
Normally all the information is lost, but there might be a chance that the deleted DB is still on your computer. You might want to look in your bin.

Hi Vince,
My bad, it is not deleted. I simply changed the name. Not sure why I said deleted....

To find your trade history, you need to go to your old database. Then you can find it in the datafolder of the database.
