Ensign's new 'study consensus' via ninja auto trading

Ensign just added a new feature which allows a non programmer to do an alert on several studies so that when conditions are all concurrent from several studiescan have an alert alarm. What I'd like to do is find a way for Ensign's "study consensus" alarm flow through to my NT to generate an order. Ensign uses a language called ESPL so I'd guess need to write in ESPL so that a NT QIF will read it........totally ignorant of coding....but the Ensign GUI format makes it easy for a code illiterate to generate an alarm on multiple study concurrent conditions which is a big leap i think......

    Anyone??

    Regards

    Bruce

You should ask Ensign to take it a step further and provide an option to write a text file in a specific format for this alert. This is what Linnsoft's Investor RT does and there are quite a few people automating their trading alerts between IRT and NinjaTrader.

        Trymph,

Writing a program in ESPL in Ensign and sending it to NT to trade through IB automatically is something I've been able to do and have been running tests on for over a year. I can tell Ensign/ESPL when a hundred things line up I want to go long or short and the order is placed with IB instantly.

The only problem is coming up with the right combination that will work over time. I've come up with a thousand combinations that work for one week and then getcrushed the next.

Anyone have a "system" that has worked for a long period?

            maybe even more than that

When 3 studyindicators/ tradesetupalarms are active concurrently Ive set up a buy/sell "study consensus" alarm as a "global flag" to flash in section7with Ensign's new "write variable" feature. All I want to do is have Ensign send a buy/sell order to NT on the bid/ask respectively when my global flag lights up in section7. Complicating it a bit though is somehow getting NT not to allow any more Ensign generated orders while either working the entry order or the resulting strategy OCO bracket. Only one order or strategy working at a time. Sumtimes my "system" doesnt work so good on one way trend days<g>. I'd be happy to send you my template and you could check out the so called system yourself and would be great to have a Ensign link to NT via the new global flag feature hint hint hint.....

            Regards

I also am trying to make the connection from an alert within ensign to trigger a trade to NT. Is it possible to make that code available? I would much appreciate it.

              Thanks

              Much success to all...

It seems that using Ensign's study consensus feature to trigger alerts will not work with ESPL that one would use to generate the text that NT needs for the QIF. So need to get Ensign to build text generating alarms into the application itself......At least thats what I've been lead to believe from my inquiries.

I was thinking along the lines ofusing the alert message that I type into the mesage window. If you click on the speakonia option. Ensign takes the message and copies it to the windows clipboard. Then maybe I could use a clipboard saver utility thingy to autosave that text into a certain folder which is polled by NT. It may be a little crude to do, but I havn't looked into it yet. Shaun says he had code that communicates to NT but I don't have that. I'm looking for clipboard software now.

You know after I sent my reply last night I remembered exactly that... text message capability from alerts too!!!...Plz keep me in the loop on how to get this to work!!! I have some study consensus alerts that I'd love to run through NT on auto too. The GUI for dummy coding in study consensus of Ensign seems perfect for code illeterates to design auto trading systems from Ensign to NT

                    Regards

On the NT site concerning automating trading, Ensign is listed as a program that can be linked to NT. Is this confirmed knowledge of a working system, or maybe because someone said they got it working, or is this there as a logical connection to the known abilities of ESPL programming - of which I know not how but wish I did?

Just wondering if there is any guidance anyone can give to the Ensign/NT connection. Is it ESPL? Emailed alerts converted to txt files? Clipboard files? I'm in the dark with the programming part- but looking for the light. Would love the help.
