NINJATRADER LIGHT CONNECTIVITY GUIDE

NinjaTrader Light Edition is a fully functional advanced order and position management simulation platform. It is *FREE of charge and has no usage restrictions. Depending on your broker/data feed provider, you can use NinjaTrader Light Edition for real-time market, order and position simulation for testing new trade methods, practice or as a training aid. You can also use it to familiarize yourself with NinjaTrader. By default, NinjaTrader installs as NinjaTrader Light Edition however, you must correctly set the operational mode. You do NOT require broker/data feed account to test drive the NinjaTrader Light Edition. NinjaTrader Light Edition comes with pre-recorded simulated data (courtesy of Patsystems) that can be used for trial purposes.

Please review the Installation Guide if you have not done so already.

Setting Operational Mode

Via the Help==>Set License menu enter one of the following mode codes:

Customers trading through Interactive Brokers enter: MODE1

Customers trading through MB Trading enter: MODE2

Customers trading though a Patsystems based broker enter: MODE3
(see section below)

Customers holding accounts at two or more of the above brokers enter: MODE4

Customers who do NOT hold an account at any of the above brokers enter: MODE5

Once you have entered the mode code, NinjaTrader will prompt you to restart the application. Upon restart, various connection options will become available to you via the File==>Connect menu.

Patsystems Real-Time Demonstration Accounts

If you hold an account at a Patsystems based broker, you may be able to request a real-time market demonstration account. This allows you to login to a demonstration account provided by your broker that will feed NinjaTrader live market data for real-time simulation. To obtain a demonstration account, please contact your broker directly and then follow the instructions in the Pats Connectivity Guide. If your broker can not provide a demonstration account, you can use the pre-recorded data feed for testing purposes or you can contact me at via email and I will put you in touch with a broker who can provide a demonstration account.

Pre-Recorded Demonstration Data Feed

NinjaTrader comes with the ability to connect to a pre-recorded data stream. This data does not reflect current market conditions. Available instruments for testing are ES, NQ, YM, ZB and ZN. All other instruments will not display data. This connection is ideal for testing all of the features NinjaTrader has to offer. Depending on the mode that you chose above, this option will be available from the File-->Connect menu.
