Raymond Deux - Founder and CEO

As an active trader himself, Raymond developed NinjaTrader in early 2003 to serve the needs of the discretionary trader by providing a trading platform that focused on advanced order and position management. His implementation of this new and innovative form of trade management was validated when hundreds of users abandoned their existing trading platforms for NinjaTrader in its’ first week of availability. Since that time, NinjaTrader has become the industry standard trading platform for active traders. Raymond now serves as the company’s CEO.

In 1993, Raymond was a founding member of TEAM Corporation, a software start-up which focused on the development and distribution of Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software applications. As Northwestern Regional Sales Director, Raymond was instrumental in the success of the company by developing and implementing aggressive sales strategies that resulted in significant revenue and personnel growth over a four-year period. Their exceptional growth caught the attention of publicly traded OrCAD, Inc., who acquired them in 1997. Under Raymond’s direction, he orchestrated a team of sales professionals in the exploration of new business opportunities in the Southwest region that resulted in widespread adoption of OrCAD’s enterprise solutions. OrCAD, Inc. was later acquired by Cadence Design Systems, the largest developer of EDA software applications with sales in excess of $1.2 B per year in 1999.

In 2000, Raymond decided to venture out on his own to pursue a career in trading.

Dierk Droth - Vice President of Development

Dierk Droth was the founder of TradeMagic whose technology was acquired by NinjaTrader, LLC in January of 2005. Dierk now serves as NinjaTrader’s Vice President of Engineering.

As the founder of TradeMagic, Dierk created an advanced middleware software application that facilitated an electronic trading application developer’s ability to easily route their software through a variety of exchange gateways. This sophisticated software is now the underlying technology of the NinjaTrader application.

Prior to launching TradeMagic GmbH, Dierk spent 8-years at Astrum GmbH, a leading developer of human resource management applications. It was at Astrum where Dierk honed his software skills by developing a variety of interfaces, middleware, and database applications. Dierk ended his tenure at Astrum as the head of their engineering and consulting groups.

Dierk started his professional life as a Private in the German Airforce while he studied computer science at the German Armed Forces University. Dierk excelled at software development creating many proprietary applications for the German military. He left military service after 12-years as a Captain responsible for multiple software development project teams.

John Gromala - Vice President of Operations

John Gromala came to NinjaTrader from McDATA Corporation, a developer of computer storage technology where he served as their Director of Business Development. He is now Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for NinjaTrader.

While at McDATA, John was responsible for establishing all new OEM business relationships for their hardware and software products. John excelled in the role where he established new business relationships with virtually every major computer storage manufacturer including Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Hitachi Data Systems, EMC, Storage Technology, DELL, Sun Microsystems, as well as many smaller companies.

He gained his experience in the computer storage business while at Xyratex, an IBM spin-out that commercialized storage technology that was initially developed for IBM’s internal use. Through the use of creative sales strategies John successfully closed many new business relationships for Xyratex including one’s with Compaq, Seagate, Storage Technology, and Maxtor earning him top sales honors several years in a row.

John began his career in the Silicon Valley of California during the early 1990’s. John worked for a manufactures sales representative company where he thrived selling technical hardware and software solutions to the burgeoning Internet companies of the time. It was a fast past and exciting time in the Silicon Valley and it set a solid foundation for John’s career.
