NinjaTrader Connection Guide for Kinetick
Summary
Kinetick is the preferred streaming real time and historical market data service for NinjaTrader. Kinetick offers the following two connection options:
- Free End of Day service for stocks, futures and forex
- Real time service
NOTE: Kinetick users must upgrade to NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.2 or higher.
Connection Configuration Instructions for Establishing a Free End of Day Connection
- NinjaTrader must be installed
- Start NinjaTrader
- As per the image below, from the Control Center window select the menu "File > Connect > Kinetick – End Of Day (Free)"
Connection Configuration Instructions for Establishing a Real Time Connection
- You must have an valid Kinetick account
- NinjaTrader must be installed
- Start NinjaTrader
- From the Control Center window, select the menu "Tools > Account Connections…"
- In the Account Connection Set Up window, press the "Add…" button
- The Connection Wizard will appear. Press the "Next >" button.
- As per the image below:
- Connection Name: Create a name to identify your connection
- Provider: Select "Kinetick" from the list
- Backup data feed connection: Select your backup datafeed or leave as "<None>"
- Connect on startup: Enable if you want NinjaTrader to automatically establish a connection on startup
- Press the "Next >" button
- As per the image below:
- Enter your Kinetick account user name and password
- Enable "Use back adjusted data" if you will be working with continuous futures contracts and want the historical data to be back adjusted
- Enable "Participate in the CME data fee waiver program" if you are participating in the CME data fee waiver program. You are responsible for ensuring that the fees are waived so please be sure you understand how the waiver program works.
- Press the "Next >" button followed by the "Finish" button to complete configuring your Kinetick account.
- To connect to your account, go to the NinjaTrader Control Center window, select the menu "File > Connect" and select your account.
